Challenge
The MASA mobile member app faced multiple challenges stemming from its decade-old design, including outdated visuals, poor usability, and a confusing user flow that damaged user trust and led to low adoption. The app also risked being delisted from app stores due to noncompliance with modern platform standards and legal requirements. A core focus of the redesign was to modernize the brand’s visual identity, streamline key user actions, and create a clean, trustworthy experience—all while ensuring the app met security, privacy, and accessibility benchmarks without alienating long-time members. Extensive user feedback and competitive analysis guided design decisions for the redesign to better align with user expectations and industry standards.

Solution
After launching the redesigned MASA mobile member app, our focus shifted to reinforcing user trust, improving engagement, and ensuring long-term platform compliance. The modernized interface—with updated brand colors, intuitive navigation, and simplified user flows—elevated the app’s credibility and usability. Responsive design elements ensured seamless functionality across iOS and Android devices, while restructured core features made key tasks faster and easier. Post-launch monitoring confirmed improved retention and user engagement, and compliance updates secured continued presence in app stores. These enhancements positioned the app as a reliable, user-centered tool that supports MASA members in managing their services effectively.

Full Component Library Buildout
A key part of this project involved building a new component library in Figma from the ground up. I developed scalable, reusable components aligned with updated brand guidelines, enabling consistent UI patterns, faster iteration, and improved developer handoff. This design system provided a flexible foundation to support ongoing enhancements and ensured visual and functional consistency across future features.

User-flow and Wire-framing Full Rebuild of App
I led a comprehensive redesign of the MASA member portal’s user flow using FigJam, fundamentally rethinking the overall content structure and reorganizing the app’s information architecture to better serve user needs. By collaborating closely with stakeholders, I defined clear content priorities for each section of the app, creating a logical, intuitive navigation system that simplifies member interactions. Throughout the process, I wireframed key screens along the user journey to strategically layout content and functionality, ensuring that each part of the app communicated information clearly and supported user goals. I also redesigned critical features like claims submission and bill pay, breaking down complex workflows into streamlined, user-friendly experiences that reduce friction and improve task completion rates. This holistic approach enabled a seamless, cohesive user experience aligned with MASA’s brand and member expectations.
